They found a version of compromise over the days that followed — not equal, not entirely fair, but real. Damon would plan; Wren would know everything he planned before he acted on it. He would protect her; she would tell him, without flinching, when his protection shaded into control, and he would, however reluctantly, listen.
It was a fragile system. It held, mostly, because neither of them wanted badly enough to break it.
