The photograph arrived on the eleventh day, forwarded through three layers of anonymization designed to make the sender untraceable — and it very nearly worked, if Damon hadn't spent twelve years learning to trace exactly this kind of digital fingerprint.
The image itself was simple enough: Wren and Damon in the driveway of Fenwick Lodge, hands intertwined, snow falling around them. Attached to it, a message with no pretense left in it at all.
